Samsung next with Android phone
May 14th, 2009 | by Mobile Data Group |Samsung has become the next manufacturer to enter the Android platform arena after it unveiled the I7500.
The smartphone offers users access to the full suite of Google services, including useful applications such as Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Talk and YouTube. The integrated GPS receiver enables the use of Google Maps features, such as My Location, Google Latitude, Street View, local search and detailed route description.
It comes with a 3.2-inch AMOLED touch-screen and 7.2Mbps HSDPA and Wi-Fi connectivity. Other features include a 5-megapixel auto-focus camera and internal memory of 8GB, which can be expanded by a further 32GB with a micro SD card.
Samsung Electronics executive vice president and head of mobile communication division JK Shin said: “Samsung is among the earliest members of the Open Handset Alliance and has been actively moving forward to introduce the most innovative Android mobile phone.
