Research In Motion (RIM), maker of the BlackBerry, has unveiled a BlackBerry Torch to take on the hot-selling iPhone, avoiding comment on a plan in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to snuff out data service there.

Sharp plans to take on Apple's iPhone by the end of the year, with the international launch of a smartphone featuring a 3D panel that can be viewed without special glasses, a spokeswoman said today.

While the infamous "death grip" reception problems caused much controversy in the US, forcing Apple chief executive Steve Jobs to apologise and offer customers free "bumper" cases to fix the issue, it doesn't seem to be as much of a problem in Australia.

NOKIA'S latest Eseries mobile phone is the little brother of the more powerful and slimmer E71. Commanding an outright price of under $400, the Nokia E63 retains most of the Nokia E71's design traits - including a full QWERTY keyboard - but it lacks built-in GPS and HSDPA connectivity.
